More advertising dollars are certainly being swallowed up by new media with each passing year. In many cases, companies can get instant results as to how effective their internet advertising might be - whereas the effectiveness of traditional television commercials are much harder to quantify.
As an actor who still goes out for the occasional audition, I've witnessed the transition from mostly broadcast auditions to a great deal more of the "on screen" web based worked.
The grand old days of big budget commercials and ridiculously expensive air time might just be disappearing.
